Design Story

The composition is architectural before it is figurative. An arched border of bronze tracery, small gargoyles and deep red gemstones builds a proscenium, and the eye enters through that ornament before it reaches the face. Inside, a pale moon and a distant spired skyline sit in cool blue, while the foreground works in warm crimson drapery, dark plumage-like wings and antique gold detailing. The outstretched hand on the parapet anchors the lower third and pulls the viewer forward, creating intimacy rather than threat. Restraint carries the drama: the subject is still, the expression withheld, and the ornate frame does the theatrical work.

Ambiance & Styling
