The eye lands on the bat first \Uffffffff wings spread wide across the glass, skeletal structure drawn with the patience of an old natural-history plate. Everything else in the composition arranges itself politely around it.
Design Story
The artwork is built on symmetry. A crescent moon and a fine dotted arc float above the specimen; ink-drawn cathedral spires and bare winter branches rise from the lower corners, framing the subject without crowding it. Typography does the quiet work: "ANATOMY OF NIGHT" set in restrained capitals, flanked by two columns of small text \Uffffffff VESPER NOCTURNALIS, SPECIMEN No. 0013 on one side, WINGS BONES SHADOWS BREATHE STILL on the other. The palette stays cool and pale, bone-white ground against black linework, so the detail reads clearly rather than dissolving into darkness. It is gothic without theatrics \Uffffffff closer to a museum catalogue than a haunted house.
Ambiance & Styling
Wrapped around the candle jar, the label works as a front-facing panel: the bat holds the centre at eye level, the spires curve away with the glass, and the dark lid caps the composition like a printed border. Negative space keeps it legible from across a room, which makes it a considered tabletop accent and an easy piece to hand over as a gift.

A scented candle that behaves like a small specimen cabinet \Uffffffff still, precise, and quietly strange.
