Design Story

The composition is arranged like a plaque. Serif lettering reading ARKANSAS crowns the panel, underlined by the smaller line OZARK HERITAGE, while RAZORBACKS anchors the base beneath a slim ornamental rule. Between them sits the razorback hog, rendered in relief-style shading with tusks forward and legs extended in a running stride. The motion is contained rather than loud: the animal moves inside a fixed frame, which turns kinetic energy into emblem. Faint tonal etching suggests ridgelines and low mountains toward the bottom, a quiet echo of the word heritage above. Warm metallic ochre against saturated red creates the only real contrast, and that restraint is what gives the emblem its weight.
