Design Story

The composition is strictly vertical and centred: a serif wordmark reading MICHIGAN WOLVERINES sits at the top of the focal panel, the block M anchors the middle, and thin rule-flanked lines close the stack below with 1817 collection and founded 1817 lettering. The palette is two-tone \Uffffffff matte black field, warm maize accent \Uffffffff so the emblem reads as the single visual weight while the surrounding surface functions as negative space. Tonal contrast does all the hierarchy work; nothing competes with the M.

Use & Experience

On a tumbler, that vertical stack matters. The graphic scale is tuned to the front-facing panel, so the emblem stays fully legible from a normal viewing angle rather than curving away into the wraparound. The handle sits to one side of the composition, keeping the focal panel uninterrupted. Held or set down on a desk, it behaves like a monochrome accessory with one deliberate colour hit.
